Our story

ECHY’s project is born in 2010 within the Ecole Polytechnique in France. The two founders, Quentin and Florent, were working together on a collective scientific project that was aimed to improve the energy efficiency of a building by sticking lighting.  After several months of studies, they discover a technical solution able to transport sunlight inside buildings via optic fibers cables.

The principle of concentrate sunlight in fiber optics to bring it inside buildings is born in the 80s. To expensive, this technology couldn’t be developed on a large scale.

The solution founded by Quentin and Florent in 2010 allows to generalize natural light with fiber optics.

They get their first patent in 2011 and create ECHY in 2012 right after getting their engineering degree.
